Finally finished my landing page design after a few weeks work:
http://i.min.us/inm4yo.png Mirror: http://i.imgur.com/utqCe.jpg I designed the layout utilizing the 960 grid system for web layouts. I had Jim's article on turbo charging your website's sales potential in mind too: link I've been reading these web design blogs for a couple years, so were a huge help as well if anyone's interested: smashing magazine webdesignerwall noupe dribbble I plan on beginning the coding and subpage design sometime next week, and using wordpress as a platform. I'm thinking of keeping a design journal and posting it here if enough people are interested. Let me know what you guys think! Edit 4/25 - Here's a slightly modified version based on suggestions below: http://i.min.us/ilnsqy.png 5/3 Update: Here's what I've accomplished so far, coming along nicely: http://pcbox.us Last edited by pcbox; 05-03-2011 at 04:03 PM. |

Aesthetically it's a very nice page. My only concern is that it looks like form the screenshots that their is a lot of text on the page; if possible I'd try and make the phone number a bit bigger just to it's blindingly obvious

Its a winner.
I like it, and I think it will be very effective. Really an excellent design. The only minor criticisim I have is that the two calls to action dont allow for discussion. Punters have the opportunity to 'schedule' or 'try'. I think this is limiting in regard to the fact that some people won't want to do either without talking to you first and having any concerns met or questions answered. Imagine an auto services site. You don't know the provider, and are looking for a tune up. You see the service there, it looks good. What do you want to do next? (a) phone them to discuss and work out an appointment if the service does what you need it to (b) schedule the service based on the information on the page Personally, I would want to ring them, as I would feel more comfortable making a booking after speaking to a human. I think 'try' is good. I think 'schedule' would be better as 'find out more' I assume this will then lead into the service page, and will then allow a more specific (broad) call to action such as 'phone now!'. Most people will be happy to phone you to discuss. "schedule" is a bit rigid as it doesnt give the punter enough time to consolidate their buying impulse (which will 9/10 times occur in a phone conversation with you). Hope this makes sense. But in terms of the format, I think its an excellent piece of work. Looks like you have done your research, and understand what the important elements of a good landing page are ![]() Well done!

If you can get that design running with WP, I'd be tempted to install it myself.
Is it your own design or an adaptation?
