I bought a used machine a couple of weeks ago with a 1.5 cpu and half a gig of ram for $50. The battery is good for more than two hours. Nothing to impress anybody but it works well. Maybe you can find something like that.

Yep, a careful 2nd hand buy on eBAY: there's plenty of them and low demand because of the cheap prices on brand new laptops (for/from home users).
Combine with cheap eBAY prices for 2nd hand RAM and bigger/faster hard disk, and you'll be flying, especially if you don't use windoze and install your favourite distro

You're like a skipping record. Please apply some reasoning to your empty rhetoric.

If you're near a Microcenter you can find a few for about $300-350ish.
http://www.microcenter.com/search/se...prt=NewProduct Or you can keep an eye on the slickdeals.net forums. Some place may have one on sale for a ridiculous price. http://slickdeals.net/forums/forumdi...e=7&perpage=50
