Default HP Desktop

HP Desktop boots to welcome screen but then shuts keyboard and mouse down on usb connection. Tried switching ports no results. Any suggestions?

have you tried booting to a live disc?

I actually let it sit til it went to sleep and when I powered it back up the keyboard and mouse were working.

That happens to me somewhat often, thats why I have both ps2 and usb mice/keyboard, sometimes switching them out works
