Default NAT Help

I am trying to figure out nat, and am confused when it comes to the following terms and how they are used in the config. Inside local, inside global, outside local, outside global. Can someone please explain? It is greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately standard naming conventions aren't always used or even created so telling us specifically what device(s) your working with might help us out.
