Windows 7 install issue - Warning
I just came across a very strange thing within the installation phase of Windows 7. I get the the stage of setting up the hard drive and partitions and it would tell me "windows cannot be installed on Disk 0 Partition X". I would delete the partition, create another and I would get the same thing. I swapped drives, refreshed, created and deleted the partitions and the same thing happened. I tried 4 drives.
I found that even though there is the refresh button on the page where you are setting up the partitions, you can not add a drive which was not there during BIOS posting and bootup. For some reason, the drive has to be recognized within BIOS for Windows to allow it to be used. Even though it is being seen in the install setup, it can't be used.
So, if you get that message, power down, make sure the cables are plugged in securely and boot back up. That should solve any issue you are having.
