I have seen so many pictures like that, but I really wonder if that is actually real. I mean, how do you go and do that? How does a company accept that kind of work? What the hell are they thinking...

I used to think the same thing, then one day I was working in an office building and got a look inside a room that housed telephone equipment. All the rj-11 lines were connected to pbx equipment with 3ft.-6ft. cable hanging all over the place. My eyes popped out and I stuttered "how the...., what the...., who could of....." I wish I had a camera at the time. The image would look very similar to this:

Good God. Can you imagine what it would be like to be confronted by either of those; personally I would run a mile. Unbelievable!

I just don't understand the reason. So it takes you an extra X amount of hours to bunch the cables when you originally run them, but by being lazy and not doing that - you spend 10x the time and aggravation of trying to work in that cluster **** of cables

Our setup here is bad but the work involved to fix it is so much that it won't be fixed. We have numbers on our patch panels and on the wall outlets but what good is that when numbers are repeated and mislabeled.
