Default Cannot get to BIOS on Acer laptop

I am having an unusual problem with an Acer Aspire 6920 laptop. The computer will not boot into windows, normal or safe mode, the "loading windows" screen appears and then I just get a black screen with a mouse cursor. I also can't seem to get it to boot from my PE cd or USB thumb drive. Normally I would just go into the BIOS and check the boot device order but I can't seem to get into the BIOS either. When the laptop is first turned on the phoenix BIOS splash screen appears for a few seconds but there is no text saying what to press to get to the BIOS. I looked up that the F2 button is the correct one to push on this laptop to get to the BIOS but still no dice. Anybody ever run into this problem? Maybe I've just been lucky but I've always been able to at least get into the BIOS on a PC unless it was totally dead. I have also tried pulling the battery, unplugging the power cord and holding the power button down for about 10 seconds before trying to get into the BIOS, still no luck :-(

Hmmm.... I may have solved my own problem. I ended up pulling off the bottom panel on the laptop so that I could try to reseat the RAM and happened to see the connector for the BIOS backup battery. I unplugged the battery for about a minute then plugged it back in, after that I could get into the BIOS again.

Do you think it was a bad BIOS setting? like overclocking or something.

You are right F2 during POST should bring up the BIOS setup.
Also try pressing "Crtl+Alt+Esc" or "Strg+Alt+Esc" during POST
Press Alt + F10 for recovery

Other BIOS keys for different PCs are DEL, F1, F2, F10 or ESC

I read this somewhere:
ACER BIOS
If your computer is unable to boot or you wish to restore the BIOS back to bootable settings and your computer uses an ACER BIOS, press and hold the F10 key as you turn on the computer. While continuing to hold the F10 key, you should hear two beeps indicating that the settings have been restored.

You might need this link:
BIOS CD tool
By using this CD it is possible to update the servers BIOS,BMC,... booting directly from this CD-ROM
