Default software backup solutions

I have seen several references on here that people user personally or suggest to customers to use Acronis software solution (free) version. I can not seem to find a full free solution. I do see 30 day trials, but nothing (free). Is there one? thanks! Eric

there are re-packaged versions of Acronis distributed for owners of Seagate drives and Maxtor. Forgot what they call it.

Not sure about the other HDD companies.
