Why not go with a corsair 800d case? From the pics that thermaltake doesn't look like it has a lot of space. I've never seen one in person though.

What are you using the pc for considering the ram and GPU's?

My PC, built it about 2 years ago I believe.

Having trouble wrapping my head around the point of this. SATA III maxes out at 600 MB/s, and those drives reach 500~ MB/s each. For roughly the same price, why not opt for a RevoDrive 3 x2 and hit 1,600 MB/s using a PCI-E x4 slot?

That said, I will never look at this thread again. I'm trying to be happy with what I have and this PC envy is not healthy for me (or my budget!)

If I've figured out the mentality of people that build these kinds of systems, of course they're going to be striped.

, yup.. I think were gonna throw a 2 or 3 tb HDD in the 5th slot and do full backups to it though..

On the PCIe SSD.. ya that would be a nice option, but like I said, he's getting the kingstons at near cost...

Yes, I think you're onto something there.

Its a "thing" that goes hand in hand with the bragging rights this guy is obviously opting for.

Seriously, someone above mentioned jelousy. While it would be nice to be able to buy 'best of everything' this build and the choice of parts the customer is going for are pretty stupid IMO. Personally Im not feeling it.

-- No offense intended to OP - who is obviously giving the customer what he asked for - nothing wrong with that. Im just saying the customer is going for boasting rights by opting for sheer speed at the cost of practicality and serviceability. Just the triple GPUs in themselves will give problems if experience is anything to go on. The RAID setup is a potential disaster, and the thing will be noisy, too.

He's hiring someone to put it together - this means he's not an adept and will have to get someone in every time it breaks down. And it will.....

So good for OP but customer has more money than sense

Well I would agree with you guys normally, but this build is mostly/all sponsor money. And they are sponsored for a video game.. like I said its more of a show piece than a gaming rig. I would probably build an even more ridiculous machine if I could figure out how and I was in his shoes.

That and the total cost is about two months of their internet bill.. lol
