I tried to use a local printer with the second EDDM batch (I've used them before on other projects) but they didn't have the ability to do the glossy UV coatings. At least I tried.

And like you said, it's important to keep hammering your brand home. If I do it again (this time with a specific product offering) I might even consider hitting the same mail routes again at the four month mark since the first mailing. But it gets expensive with little to show for it.

All in all, I'd say I've broken even. But barely. We're only in our fourth month of operation -- I know it takes awhile to build a head of steam.

I did my mailings in 2 waves.

On the first 5,000 pieces I had a 10% off coupon and of the perhaps 10 responses I got on it, only one even asked about his discount.

So with the second batch, I removed the coupon and replaced it with an image of our office building, to confer an air of professionalism and legitimacy.

But looking at yours, I wish I had just reworked the coupon idea, perhaps even dedicated the entire piece to it.

I mailed out 3,000 pieces a week ago. I have received one phone call from a guy asking about our prices (he approved).

I think if I were to do it again, I would try to sell our product instead of our company.
According to marketing research, % does not work well unless its something dramatic like 50% off. $ are more effective as long as it is significant enough. In my case, $10 off made no difference and made little impact. As soon as I increased it to $25, there was a much larger impact. Now I have 2 coupons. One that is for $20 off (first time customers only -- very important to note on coupon) and 10% off for military (very important here). Now my coupons in general are much more effective.

Also, I forgot to mention, but on the back side of our fliers, is a catalog of our retail items. This also affects the price of our fliers.

I do not think it is a bad idea to have an image of your building. I may even use Stro's (think that's who it was) idea of using a panoramic image of the inside of our store for the back of the flier rather than using a catalog.
