All thanks to an Ipad. Now why they didnt just buy another chicken, who knows.
Pretty funny though, see the pictures here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...deos-iPad.html Recap: A lonely chicken has been coaxed into laying eggs again after watching videos of other birds running around on an iPad. Hen Maia was left distraught and stopped producing eggs after her pen pal Baba was eaten when a fox snuck into their hut in the middle of the night last month. But owner Ashley Wood, 36, managed to get the withdrawn chicken laying eggs again after finding her some virtual friends by setting up his iPad in the garden of his home, in Portishead, Somerset, where Maia could watch other hens onscreen. The delighted office manager is now reaping the rewards - with the hen producing around five eggs per week. Father-of-one Ashley said: 'After Baba died Maia was lonely and stopped her usual supply off eggs. She just used to mope about after her lost friend. 'I decided to try playing chicken videos to her on my iPad when I was in my garden - and to my astonishment it started to work. 'She is now back producing around five eggs a week and seems a lot happier. I still get the videos out, as it helps her when she thinks she has company.' Chickens live in flocks so they do not cope well being alone with many getting lonely or depressed. Maia's new virtual friends have given her a new lease of life and she spends several hours with them a day on the iPad. |
