DIY: Shorten cables by curling them...

I found this post via lifehacker a few months ago and it's worth checking out if you guys don't know about it. It's a great way to keep cables shorter (and make them easily identifiable as "yours" and not your clients).

*Note: really just wrap cord around something metal (I used the legs of a guitar stand), tape the ends, heat with hot air gun until they get a little shiny. Let cool for 30 mins. No need for the "water" part described above. I've done this for about 25 cables and no problems. I'm loving it.

I forgot to mention a key part that the article doesn't do:

Once you finish initial twist and let it cool, you need to "reverse" the twist. Hard to describe, easy to do. Once you "reverse" the twist, it cuts the length in half and becomes much tighter. It's crucial.
