I had one a few months ago that was similar, and it turned out that there was a missing ribbon cable from the headphone out socket to a daughter board. This stopped sound out speakers. Might be worth a check.

Oddly enough, I am having sound issues on my personal laptop (win 7 64-bit) and to get the sound to come out of the speakers, i plugged in a pair of earbuds into headphone jack. I'm curious to see the outcome of your issue if your system behaved the same way.

What brand/model is the soundcard?
May have to go to the manufactures downloads to get current. Also make sure your using 64bit drivers, most have a 1 download covers all, but some have them seperate. I made that mistake once too. Hope this helps :P |
