Default Has anyone come across IE 8 Object: Error...

Has anyone come across an IE8 problem on Win XP Pro SP3 when attempting to go to certain sites such as Windows Update, and another site they go to a box pops up that simply says "Object: Error" with "OK" button. No explenation and the button continuously pops up after clicking "Ok" or pressing enter so browser is then unusable.

Uninstalling IE 8 and letting it revert to IE 7 fixes the problem. If you clean it up and update back to IE 8 the problem returns but was not doing it before a couple of trojans were discovered. Unfortunately they had alread cleaned it so not sure which ones but everything else is clean and fine, just this one thing that remains.

All other browsers pull up the website that causes the problem fine with IE 8 installed. So I have them on IE 7 at the moment until I can figure out what might have happened and how to fix, of course best fix would be them getting a new modern system for their accounting department but what can you do.
