If you've already bought it.... what's the advantage of finding out there are sometimes forum-based discounts?

FWIW, I've never noticed a deal through these forums but sometimes through other sources.

I hadn't purchased it when I posted, I have since done so. If someone had answered with some idea of a discount I would have used the information to my advantage. This did not happen so I went ahead and purchased the product anyway based on the previous posters's response.
