Default I think i have found my new invoicing system

i have been looking for a replacement for my incumbent solution Bamboo Invoice that i have been running on my web host. Bamboo invoice has served me well in the past, but some of it's "quirks" and lacking features have become noticeable as my business has grown. not to mention the fact that it was last updated 2 years ago. i've been flirting with a couple different solutions freshbooks, quickbooks, vtiger, sugarcrm, salesforce various open source solutions.

all had there ups and downs. price, clunkiness etc. but finally i think i have found one that works for me

it is Harvest getharvest.com

it will do time tracking, expense tracking, project tracking, invoicing, integrated paypal and you add another payment gateway. they have an iphone and android app for time tracking, desktop widgets for computers etc.

the solo plan is 12 dollars a month per user up to 3 users. and does unlimited invoices, projects, expenses etc. which is really nice compared to fresh books.

i'm only on day 3 of my trial but i've worked through all of my likely workflows in it and am very pleased so far.

anyone else using it? anyone have any thoughts on it?

Looks very interesting! I have to say I'm surprised this is the first time it's been posted here since it looks very mature, especially with all the addon and API support!

Had you considered mhelpdesk? If so, what made you decide against it?

I love PCRT for residential work but I really need something better for business that supports ticketing etc.

I think I'm going to use PCRT for residential and MHelpdesk for contract business and MSP clients.

PCRT has features I'm just not willing to give up! Love it.

I use simple invoices. Great free program that does invoices, qoutes, inventory, paypal, reports for sales ect...

Its really nice as it does what I need it to do and was quite easy to setup. Anyone running a small shop should check it out.

i just started using invoice bubble. It is web based so i don't have to install anything, and it does what it needs to do. Plus it's free if you dont mind a little watermark at the bottom of your invoices.

i've been using Harvest for about two weeks now. and i am really liking the time tracking aspect. i've discovered that just watching the clock and keeping the count of time in my head isn't that efficient. i've discovered on some tasks i was over billing for the amount of time involved. and alot of tasks i was under billing by a pretty decent amount.

the only thing i do not like about harvest is that in order to use the time tracking part you have to create a project, which is less than ideal for break fix type work. however i submitted a feature request asking that you be able to create a new invoice and just track time in that invoice.

they said that is a feature they are adding at some point.

PCRT would be nice if i was running a repair shop, but im not a repair shop, break fix work YTD is less than %25 of my revenue.

Mhelpdesk looked nice but i dont know i just was not sold on it for some reason.

the other OS options, well i was using one (BambooInvoice) which was good it did 90% of what i wanted but its been pretty much abandoned by the author and has not been updated in two year. i dont really want to go down that road again.
