Default TrueCrypt versus BitLocker

Hi guys, I am playing around with encrypting laptop hard drives and wondered if you guys had any experience with this?

I have tried BitLocker in both Windows Vista and 7, but I find it really annoying having to insert a USB drive to unlock the hard drive every time I boot the computer. I am aware that you can enter a PIN instead if you have a TPM chip, but there doesn't seem to be many of these knocking about.

It has been suggested TrueCrypt may be a good alternative. Anyone tried it?

I still recommend TrueCrypt for my clients, especially if they are only securing data. TrueCrypt is a lot easier to manage.

The main issue with bitlocker or any other technology that requires a key is the management of the key. In corporate enviroments, you'll need to keep a key at each location or even tech and then escrow a key offsite for DR purposes.
