SIW (System Information for Windows) has a great feature that reports the licences for most installed applications. It's available here: http://www.gtopala.com/

It's also useful for getting all manner of hardware info, mem type, MB make and model, system temp etc. I use it regularly.

Along the same lines but different app, Everest is awesome for these and so much more, definitely beats SIW.

Is quite a good one. I used to use it all the time. Just found out that its not available for commercial purposes ... My bad ... Then why was it in the Technibble Toolkit? ( i presumed all tools in there where available freely for commercial purposes )

RockXP Is another

Magical JellyBean KeyFinder is another.. Check 'Tools of the Week'

Still lookin' for a way to recover A/V Pro products serial/keys if anyone knows ..

Thanks Patrick. I normally wouldn't do that for someone, however it's a family member I know, and he simply can't find his office CDs with the keys.

I use SIW regularly too. Keys, Secrets, and for doing an inventory of the machine.

It is really ok. If someone has a properly licensed version of software on their machine and you are doing something to repair and return it to functional, I see nothing at all wrong with it. It would be just the same as if they had the package with the license key that the MS Office disks came in but the disks were somehow unreadable. As a matter of fact, if you buy the retail MS Office and want to put it on a netbook without a CD drive, MS directs you to download it directly from their server, install it and use the key that is printed on the package that you bought.

+1 for this. I've used it on a non-bootable hard drive with a hosed XP install... removed and put in a USB caddy as a slave drive. Got the Office 2003 key, reinstalled XP, reinstalled Office, used the extracted key, activated successfully and passed WGA no sweat.
