Seems I keep hitting a wall when it comes to trying to mash something together for my company website. I wanted to have some sort of CRM driving the entire thing (Wordpress/Joomla) and maybe have a ticket system or some sort of backend that would allow customers to login and pay an invoice or check on the status of their computer at the shop.
Wordpress is super easy but lacks some third party modules to pull off the back end. Joomla on the other hand seems a bit overkill but just from some quick searches seems to be a better fit. Would anyone be willing to point me in the right direction or maybe showcase their own site? |

If your willing to pay for a proper CRM system that also happens to support a web interface then you might want to check out CommitCRM:
http://commitcrm.com/ Web interface for employee and customers: http://commitcrm.com/web_interface.htm Compared to the pricing models of other tools at this level its actually pretty inexpensive. I spent some time looking into all of these over the last few months trying to decide on what to go with. That seems to fit your needs. |

I used drupal for my website. Its free and it has worked great for me. Here's my site if you want to check it out:
Computer Repair - Bozeman, MT I'm not sure it has all the features you're looking for, however. PayPal works OK for me as far as accepting payments goes. |

Excellent, thank you all for your input. Seems the CommitCRM is really what I am after.
From what I have gathered it may be best to use wordpress with the sub domain option for the back end which can be tied into CommitCRM's customer site. Big thanks to all of you. |

I have said it a million times - I am an absolute fan of Joomla. Once you understand the concepts and how it all works - its a powerful system. I have created a whole variety of webpages and Joomla never fails me.

I agree fully with Joomla being an awesome system with many modules and extensions to go with it.
At the moment I just have little time to spend learning about Joomla (or any other CMS for that matter) So, for now, I just stuck with Wordpress because I seemed to get the hang of it within about an hour and was able to get the basics online and showing to the public. Would any of you care to share some constructive criticism on the website? You can find it at poweron-cs.com Thanks in advance! |

Checked out the site prob need to add some more content to it and some pictures would help also.
Would not say you are "stuck" with wordpress....It's a pretty powerful package in itself if used right. |

The site is not bad at all. You have a good template, very clean + modern. You just need to get some more content on there and some graphics.
And another note, take off the little red ribbons on the left with the dates. You are off to a good start, let us know when you update a bit more.

Thank you for your input on the site. It is very much appreciated.
I do agree that I need a bit more content and some nice graphics to go with it. I am also really green when it comes to using wordpress but I do want to tweak the template a bit to get those date ribbons off as well as disabling the comments on all the pages with the exception of maybe one page just for customer testimonials. Thanks again and I'll get to adding the recommendations as soon as I can. |
