For the past half hour or so I can not access my GoDaddy mailbox, the GoDaddy main website, nor my business website for which GoDaddy is the registar (but not the host). Anyone else having issues?

A couple news sites are stating that Anonymous is claiming responsibility for the GoDaddy outage. I first came across mention of this on Twitter.

Also affects Mhelpdesk.

Just received this email from them, with work-around instructions:

Quote: "Due to Godaddy's outage, millions of websites are down right now. The bad news is that many of you may not be able to reach Mhelpdesk using the domain name. The good news is that the Mhelpdesk servers are all up-and-running 100%. The better news is that you can still access our services by following these instructions:

Windows Users
As admin, open your hosts file in the folder C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc with Notepad. (assumes Windows is installed on C: drive)
Add this line to your hosts file:
50.16.247.129 secure2.mhelpdesk.com
Save the hosts file
Close your browsers and visit https://secure2.mhelpdesk.com to access Mhelpdesk
Mac Users
Open Terminal.app (Applications > Utilities > Terminal)
Open the hosts by typing $ sudo nano /private/etc/hosts
Add this line to your hosts file:
50.16.247.129 secure2.mhelpdesk.com
Save the file by pressing control-o
Close the prompt by pressing control-x
Flush your DNS cache by typing:
$ dscacheutil -flushcache
We don't know when Godaddy will resolve their problem. We'll send you an update once we know what is going on. In the meantime, you can follow TechCrunch's coverage over the Godaddy incident here:
http://techcrunch.com/2012/09/10/god...ions-of-sites/

We're really sorry about this inconvenience. The above workaround will get you back online though. Thanks again for your support." End quote
