Wow! HP may finally be releasing a good product after only 6 years of crap. Even with windows 8, though, the price point will have to be under $700 to be competitive.

Looks interesting especially coming from HP. But I bet we will see those in the shop in a few years needing new display cables

I don't think there are any. Its really a tablet with a base that looks like it has the keyboard, touchpad and maybe some other connectors but thats it.

But since its a HP it WILL be in the shop for something, probably one month past the warranty expiration.

We're going to see a lot of hybrid tablets/laptops now with Win8
Motorola has done them, Dell and Asus has one coming out (if not already)

One of the reasons I haven't gotten a tablet myself yet...is because, I really need a keyboard. I do so much forum stuff, so much remote work, I need a keyboard and usable cursor control. A tablet just won't cut it. Plus...I simply will not go below a 10" screen...I really don't want to go below a 12" screen.

A resolution ending in x768 is tough enough...but below that...yuck! I don't like scrolling left 'n right on forums.

But these hybrids may get me there.

I've been wondering if Apple is going to try to do something like this. Everything left on this years horizon still points to NO (13' retina MBP, new iMac, iphone 5, iPad mini). Apple has spent the last to OSX versions integrating more and more iOS functionality (natural scrolling anyone? It's anything but natural), but it seems their intent is still to keep the Mac line separate from iOS devices, but to make them sync better together and function similarly. It's scary to think about it, but it almost makes sense that perhaps Apple may stop making computers eventually and before they'd ever stop making iOS devices. Yet, at the same time Apple is still getting involved in anything and everything.

But, I'm the same way. I like my iphone, don't see any use for an iPad, and always use my laptop. But then 12 years ago or so, I was doing everything on a desktop and barely had any use for a laptop. Now, at home I don't even have a desktop anymore...

WOW they are almost 9 months behind, we've been selling the Asus Transformer line of tablets/docks for close to a year now, newest one is the Transformer Pad, has a 10.1" display, quad core processor, Nvidia graphics, IPS display, 18hr battery(with dock), full size USB, full size SD, plus micro-SD, touchpad, ICS, (plus I have been working on trying to get win8 working), it's a great unit, the tab is $399 with the dock being another $150...... FANTASTIC unit.

Asus also has a windows one coming out for W8
