Default bt fon outdoor wifi antenna

got a customer asking about an outdoor wifi antenna to pick up BT Fon as there no phone line. fon is in the area but its very weak inside so they wondered about an outside one. my normal guy had no good suggestions but i see theres several on ebay etc claiming up to 60db boost.
anyone had experience doing this and got any suggestions on best kit?

you have listed a usb adapter which will be no use for outdoor usage.

now if a client not going to goto the expense of a phone line they going to be nothing but trouble especially as the nature of BT fon relies on other peoples wifi, as soon as the neighbour providing it turns of their router your going to get the blame.

if want to be really geeky why not use a sky dish and modify it to be an antenna.

I don't think you can use use BT Fon unless you subscribe yourself?

What about a 3G dongle?

apparently the son has bt and never uses his fon account so thats what they hope to use. not seen those ones made from old sky dishes. looks like an interesting project for a slow day. may have a play with that just for the fun of it!

yeah they already tried a dongle but their in a poor 3g reception area and could only sometimes get a signal which dipped out all the time.

they say that theres one window sill where they can see 3 or 4 fon signals but very weak. they have got online this way and had no problem connecting, its just the only place they can get signal with the internal card so their looking at ways to boost.

didnt know if these booster any good or go the outdoors antenna route. im giving them no promises it'll work, its more good PR if can find something that works.
