Windows disks and licenses
Hi
If a customer phones and asks me to repair their computer, and I end up having to do a windows reinstall, what disks can I use? If they don't have/weren't supplied them can I use another disk and enter their product key? Wat if the product key is not on the outside of the computer somewhere? Am a bit confused how licensing all works. Many thanks Justin

I am going to give you the most politically correct answer possible . . . as any other answer will surely start another debate . . . If they do not have recovery disks, then charge them for a reinstall and charge them for ordering new recovery disks.

 Is it legal to download a copy of Windows as long as they have a serial? The majority of the other discussions about this are in Technicians only which you can't see yet.
