Last time that I set up a Gmail account with an email client the first time I changed the settings through the web interface for some reason the POP settings weren't saved. It might be worth a couple of minutes of your time to recheck that everything is saved correctly.

why not imap. if you want to backup it up use mailstore.
i dont no if it makes a difference but those are the imap settings are pop the exact same?

Well I gave up using windows live for this.
I am now using pop peeper and it's working. Not sure what's going on with windows live. Thanks for all your suggestions guys. Regards, |

I've seen many instances in Windows Live where initial acct setup gets fubared and simply deleting/re-creating acct gets her going.
