Yup a 4+4. I'll have more details tomorrow when I actually get my hands on the system.

A little searching via Google came up with the following:
Quote:
Dell Studio XPS 435MT 475W Power Supply F217J
Features:

475 Watt Max Output
100-240V Input

Connections

1 x 24pin ATX Motherboard Power (P1)
5 x Sata Connectors (P3, P4, P5, P6, P7)
1 x 8 Pin Connector (P2)
1 x PCI-E Connector (P8)
1 x PCI-E + 2Pin Connector (P9, P10)
Seems to me that this is the minimum requirements.

Just to update, it was the PSU.. replaced the piece of junk PSU the other shop put in with a nice 600w and it ran like butter -- had to rebuild their RAID array as well.
