Profile Of A Repair Customer
Thought this might be an interesting question to ask on the forum.
What is the common age, sex of a typical repair customer, and why do you think this is?? Andy

In Felixstowe it seems to be 50+ male
Why? They have more disposable income than younger people and would rather pay to have a job done correctly than attempt a repair themselves.

In my area my clients tend to be over 50.
Why? I give them 20% discount and that seems to get their attention. They have friends that have friends that have friends, and so on.

Older clients, sorta 50+ are much more likely to repair something even if it's not even close to worthwhile (and we've tried to explain this to them), presumably this is because older generations are used to things lasting longer and getting them repaired rather than buying new.
Younger clients tend to treat their machines like crap and they're very beat up. Power jacks are common, hard drives probably the most common however.

A great majority of ours are young marines in their twenties or early thirties.

I really dont think I have one. I seem to service a pretty broad demographic. If I had to narrow it down, a guess would be; women over 40.
But its a pretty wide demographic here. Actually a lot of my repairs are physical laptop repairs - and so this is possibly why the demographic is not the usual with ' software problems'.

We cover from teens to people in aged care. Its a very mixed spread and there doesnt seem to be a majority. We just cater for everyone
