LST101 screen/inverter tester

I have the LST02 along with the little programmer and all the cables. It really helps speed up diagnostics.

Yeah doesn't have the same features alright, but for the price and the amount of backlight problems I get it's well worth it.

Though in saying that if I had a shop and a full time business and did allot of backlights/inverter jobs I'd definitely consider the LST101 as it looks a little more robust

Does the one on Ebay have an ac/dc power supply it doesn't show it in the picture?

Yeah it did alright but mine came with a US type plug but also came with a UK/IRL adapter, this might have changed though as I bought it last January.

I bought mine direct. It comes with AC adapter

I'm going to add one to my tool kit this week or so. I've currently got a laptop in where it would of being a great help and save guess work. But I'm sure its the inverter.

I've just had one laptop in with a dim screen and it would have been handy to rule the lamps out so I've ordered one off Ebay and see how I get on with it. The LST101 is from the USA as stated and I asked them for a quote on delivery to the uk and it was $39.

Ok just an update, I bought the one off Ebay and it does the job. The ac/dc adaptor for the UK is poor but any 12DC 1A power supply will do. It obviously lights the screen so you can prove it's not the lamps so you are looking at the inverter or cable to the inverter really for dim screens and I don't think the more expensive device will help you any more. No instructions with it but it is self explanatory.

I'm sure it will pay for itself in a matter of a few jobs. As you know, I had a laptop in a couple of weeks back, where my diagnosis was inverter, and it turned out to be the lamps, hence replacement screen.
