Hello All,
Anyone know a good memory cooler to get for my own pc for 6 sticks of ram i have XMS3 Corsair 12gb ram 6x2gb sticks - They seem to be getting very very hot! and 1 stick has just failed. i can see coolers that fit over 3 memory sticks - is it just the case of buying 2 or can i get 1 that does all 6 sticks of ram? Thanks Dave

Hi Dave,
Not sure on RAM coolers but you may also want to look at upgrading your case and cooling fans to improve air circulation around the RAM modules |

In all reality, you should never need RAM coolers, even if you are overclocking your RAM massively. As said above, i would rethink you case cooling, maybe put an exhaust fan up top?
Now if 1 stick has just failed, these being matched sets, it is very likely it was a defective set anyway, and i would look to RMA if you can. The defect could be causing you to see higher than normal temperatures... But if you really want one, Corsair Dominator is about the best, but any cooler of that style will work great for you. And 1 should provide plenty of air flow... |

I assume you are running a LGA1366 CPU?
What are your ram volts at? They should be 1.5V if you are running stock. As far as cooling goes, you can go with something like this: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/12...35&id=Km7gCEH3 60MM should be big enough or you can go hard core: http://www.xoxide.com/ramwaterblocks.html BTW, I found this in no time thanks google. |
