Question Autobackup4tech 255 character issue

Hardly a Autobackup4tech issue I know but is there a way around the problem of not being able to copy destination files that are over 255 characters long?

I'd rename 1 or 2 but this time the customer has over a hundred files like it!

Are they all in the same directory? Could you possibly compress them to zip with a short name?

Everytime i've had that, the files were junk anyway. Stuff like chat logs from Windows messenger. Do these look like files they really need?

A good idea that often evades me! Thanks.
I'm also thinking "Upstoppable Copier" if I didnt fancy zipping. Just thinking if the drive is flakey (I've made an acronis image already).

It's a home business pc. Lot's of architect drawings/plans, so yes, needed.

However, I normally backup the lot anyway, not my crap to throw away as such.
