Hi guys,
I don't do websites myself so I don't offer the service but to try and cut costs I thought I'd have a play around in my spare time and see what I can make. Like I said it's my first website so it's nothing fancy, some issues I believe are: 1. my location is not on each page in a clear and easy position for people to find. 2. I need to insert a contact form. 3. Most website have the copyright stuff at the bottom of the page, and who created it. 4. Content could be improved 5. Website tags, page descriptions, keywords etc 6. I think I should have gone for a .com.au domain instead of a .com Any info would be greatly appreciated, would like to see what other ideas you guys may have, or other areas I could improve on. http://www.pccrashrepairs.com |

I'd tone down the hover effect on the buttons. Should be subtle and still easy to read what you are hovering over. The current hover effect is a little too hard to read and too "in your face" imo.

I'm not a web developer by any means, but, as I'm redoing mine as well, I've learned a few things. Your home page appears to be just one big image. I can't imagine this is good for SEO. Get rid of the dark background. I've never been a fan of that. Try to find a responsive WordPress theme that will render as well on mobile as it does a regular browser. As time progresses, mobile browsing will overtake desktop and notebook browsing. Check out the ultimate tech site, which is owned by a member here, as well as theme forest.
Edit: Forget what I said about it being a big image. My phone just wasn't rendering it right. Last edited by angry_geek; 04-28-2012 at 07:02 PM. |

You website is informative and user friendly which is a huge plus.
As others have said, the effect when you hover over buttons is not very appealing. Not really liking the black background either. One thing i have noticed is you are not taking advantage of the alt tag for your images. I just picked one example from your site: <img src="Home/imag010.jpg" width=189 height=144 border=0> You should consider adding the alt tag because Google will read it and use the information in it's algo for SERPS. It's an often overlooked part of SEO. In this instance the image is for your CompTIA A+ cert, so maybe put the following: <img src="Home/imag010.jpg" alt="CompTIA A+ certified computer repair service Melbourne" width=189 height=144 border=0> Do this for all images ensuring you put in your main keywords in the alt tag each time along with any other relavent info. Hope this helps! Regards, Simon. |

Looks like you are off to a great start. "so you can rest assure you're dealing with an expert in IT." I believe the proper way to say this would be to use the words "rest assured". I like the color scheme that you have chosen. If I were you I would also try to use "we" instead of "I" when describing your company to prospective customers on your web page. Using "we" makes it sound like you are an established company with several employees instead of a one man show. Good job so far.
