I've booted Acronis on my VE200 before & saved an image to it, I imagine the VE300 works the same way. Push the jog button straight in on the Zalman before you plug it into the usb port then it will be in dual mode allowing you to mount ISOs & save data to the drive.

Maybe I am loosing my mind completely, but I cannot get this thing to work! After messing with it for 30 minutes, I finally got the boot options to say USB CD Drive, but it will not boot to it. Can someone post a complete idiots guide to using this thing?
I do have the _iso folder on the root of the drive and the screen does see all of the iso files.

I had the same problem at first. Have you updated the software from their website. Make sure you download the correct software for your disk format. Hope it helps?

Got my new 1TB drive in the other day. Zalman comes in today. Open it up (Giggle a little), pull the top off, Plug in the new drive (Giggle some more), Start to put it into the enclosure...FAIL! The drive I ordered is TOO THICK! I thought all 2.5 drives were the same form factor.

The issue was discussed on another post about Zalman 300. Apparently with the extra discs required for that much storage ,they need to be thicker. Sorry you didn't ask around the forums before ordering the drive. Can you return it and get a 500 gb ?

Thanks, I'll use it for something...It's funny though when I first ordered the drive I said to myself " How do the jam all that storage into that little drive" now I have my answer... They Don't!

The drive is convenient - but I still find an external usb 3 drive and a flash drive with SARDU more reliable and easier to use.
