Tell us a little about yourself
My name is Ian Alexander, I'm the CEO of a startup out of Cal Poly called RepairTech, Inc. We make a tool called TechUSB which enables anyone to easily diagnose and repair their computer with a single click. What country do you live in? San Luis Obispo, CA, USA What is your current experience? (Years working on computers, in the business, certifications etc..) I've been a computer tech for the past 8 years. I've worked for computer repair shops and run my own. I'm also a 4th year computer engineering major at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. Are you self looking to start a computer business, already have one, working for someone else or something else? I run my own repair shop - see slocomputers.com Anything else you would like to share? hobbies etc.. Check out TechUSB at repairtechsolutions.com . Let us know what you think. |

Welcome to the forums. Not knocking you, but this is D7 territory. I would like to see your tool in action (any videos?). How does your tool fare against the zero access rootkit or one of the newer more ferocious rooties? I'll admit it...I am biased...big D7 fanboy here.
Anyways...welcome.

Hey don't worry I'm a tech myself, and I understand how opinionated and loyal techs can be to their toolkit. D7 is a great utility, and I hope that we can create something so awesome that you at least consider switching over or adding TechUSB to your arsenal. We'll open up beta within a few weeks, so you can have at it and let us know what you think. Thanks for the welcome!

LOL Thanks Trusted IT!
Perhaps there is room for both utilities in the tech repair scene As I recently mentioned in my D7's DataGrab vs. Fab's Autobackup 4 Tech thread, competition spurs innovation! Perhaps that will help both of our utils improve in the Windows part of things... On the other hand I have never planned to take D7 the route of a bootable utility, (though it does run in a WinPE environment) nor would I dare to replace valuable utils such as a good factory HDD diag and Memtest86+ ... these are very big shoes to try and fill for Ian's diag/repair util! Welcome Ian, and good luck!
