Hi, I have a win 7 64 bit system, sp1 everything seems fine, had a little trouble with updates hanging on shut-down and a few infections. I cleaned it up and ran ERD from the dvd to scan with sfc, it stops with an error: "scanning tool failed to run properly, no scanning or repairing was done..." I rebooted and ran sfc from the command prompt in windows, it get 85% and quits. I ran hardware diags on the disk and chkdsk, ideas? Heres whats in the error log:

Try the steps here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
That should fix the problem if it is a permissions issue. If the problem is with a severely corrupted file, you can try to copy the file from another computer running the same version of Windows (7 64bit SP1) or remove and reapply the hotfix or patch that may have installed or updated that file last. |
