Best Server Antivirus

So before you answer let me lay out all the moving parts to this.

The way this network is setup is,

There is a main office where the server sits,
then there are 3 other offsite locations with about 5 computers each,
that are connecting to the main office/Server through a "direct pipeline" from the ISP.
These computers are not all logging into the server, nor do they want to.

All they are using this Dell Power Edge T410 for is a file server. They are just mapping drives to it. No Exchange, no Active Directory, nothing. So their Server needs are very low.

So with all that being said, which antivirus would you recommend for this type of network and Server.

If this is an office/business...most likely a site license for AV for all rigs...so why not stick with that product? If they don't have a site license yet for a centrally managed business AV product..now's the time to propose.

I love these kind of questions. You are going to get strong support for many different products. Most people here will recommend either what they are most experienced with, or what they re sell. You also see the split between free and paid.

This means to me that the AV market is still wide open and no solution is dominant or universally loved. Several are rightfully hated, though.

I avoid Kaspersky and Norton anything else should be okay.

Can possibly get the AVG server client edition. I used it for my clients, and so far, no issues.

Never had a problem with kaspersky, though within a server environment I would use sophos.

I tend to use ESET for servers. It's cheap and works pretty well. They do a file server one.
