Default Introducing Paypal "here" sorta, well, it's coming soon

Paypal is finally getting in on Square-up's business model of the swipe via earphone jack dongle.

I've been using both paypal (way before square) and square for the past year. But just wanted to let everyone know they are getting in on the game now too.

Yeah I read about that last night. It'll take a little more than a slight reduction of fees to get me to switch. Square has been a great experience for us (especially getting money deposited quickly) and with PayPal and their hold policies it'll take a lot more to get me to switch.

Looks like they are trying to undercut Square's fees slightly by going with 2.7% compared to Square's 2.75%

I guess the competition might be a good thing, although I'm not a fan of that dongle, it looks weird to me. I also prefer that square sends the funds directly to my account, as opposed to my Paypal account.

I'm still interested enough to keep an eye on the development though, thanks for the info.

Yeah, I guess the big question is are you willing to dump Square over 5 cents on a $100 transaction, because that's all you're going to save with PayPal.

Like you, I like that Square sends funds directly to my bank account.

I would only switch if they could offer an echeck system with it. Otherwise square still over all has them beat.

It looks like like you will be able to deposit checks with it for free. That would make the app worth something as my bank doesn't support that.

PayPal Here mobile card reader: it's like Square, but with way more frozen accounts
paypal has been a major headache, it seems like anytime i get a decent sum of money in my account and try to move it to my business checking account, i get locked down and audited, and have to reverify my account.

I hope so. I've always fancied a card reader of some sort for card payments.
