I have ran into this problem quite often and fix it by updating the firmware of the router.

We tried connecting again but right, I mean right beside the router and it connected. So it's a distance/strength thing but only at problem site. Distance is not a problem anywhere else. Also strength shows excellent at site when unit is near or downstairs.

Maybe there is something else interfering with the signaL? We once had an old microwave that interfered with our wireless signal when it was on

Could be portable phones etc
