Shutdown un-needed startup programs on HP TouchSmart

My first time working on one of these, and the system is running very slow. 102 processes at start-up

Since this is such a media heavy pc, I'm not really sure what I am safe removing from the control panel.

No recovery or install dvd's with the system, so I don't want to end up crashing things if I dig too deep in cleaning it up.

It is running Vista Home Premium 64 bit. 4 gb ram/ 2 Duo 2.16/2.16 CPU.

Norton 360 will be the first to go...
