So, how does one install a video card in a system like this (HP)? This awful design is a new one for me.

none of those blanks "knock-out" ?
We've had good results with some of the USB video adapters, like USB to DVI from nvidia.. http://www.amazon.com/Plugable-UGA-1.../dp/B004AIJE9G |

Nope...it's solid. Blew my mind they designed something like that. How INCREDIBLY stupid...

Looks like you'll be breaking out the cutters
![]() Projects like this are fun!! On the other hand, you could always get another case, $20 :P |

I would just cut the case out... considering the PCI slots match the cutting space :P (I wouldn't be surprised hehe)

Yes, the new low end HPs are incredibly cheap. I was surprised when I saw they started using external PSUs for the desktops. At the rate they're going they'll probably be making cases out of cardboard in a year or two, then they can advertise that it's earth friendly & recyclable.

Make sure, if you get a new chassis for it, that the board is a standard matx form factor. Some of the HPs have 'unique' boards that are outside of normal form factor guidelines and will not fit into a matx case. Let us know how you get on? Jim

We started carrying this a couple of weeks ago. It's powered by a laptop power cord!

That is about as bare bones as you can get without going raspberry pi.
2 Sata ports? sorry about wanting that extra hd. No expansion slots, a soldered down AMD... I just cried a little on the inside. That is about as upgradeable as a tablet. |
