Sardu is software that lets you boot multiple cd images for computer repair from a single usb stick. It lets you select various cd images then boot them just as if you were using the cd, but instead of carrying around 40 or 50 cd's, you carry around 1 usb stick.
Davide Costa is the brilliant programmer that has engineered SARDU for the rest of us technicians to use. It is more useful to me than pendrive linux, b/c it is easier to customize it and add the cd's you want. Davide is still working on sardu, and is creating a new beta version which supports more cd iso's that technicians specifically use. Currently he is working on incorporating inquisitor (the best open source program for troubleshooting pc hardware), into sardu. If you all saw the 50 cd list of cd's that technicians can use (most freely) for everything from hardware repair, to virus removal, to software troubleshooting, then you understand how big a project Davide is undertaking for all of us. Let's all give a round of applause to Davide Costa for supporting the technicians in the community and providing software specifically tailored toward making our jobs easier. Thank you Mr. Costa. Sound like a great find, thanks! Now all I need is a write-protected flash drive...

Quick Instructions (as I was a little confused when I first used an older version, dunno if there are a better set of directions out there): -When you run you will see 4 tabs of categories of software... click the ones you want to download then save them into the ISO subfolder of where you are running the program. -If you already have the ISOs move them there. -Then check or decheck the ones you want included in your ISO CD/DVD image or on your bootable USB, then wait a little while as it is built. Here's a list of everything you can include: ANTIVIRUS: -AOSS PCTools -AVG Rescue CD -Avira AntiVir Rescue System -BitDefender -Min Dr Web LiceCD -F-Secure -GDATA -Kaspersky 'KAV Rescue CD' -Panda SafeCD -VBA Rescue CD UTILITIES: -Floppy Win98SE -Clonezilla -Gparted -NT password -Ophcrack -Parted Magic -Partition Wizard -System Rescue CD -Ultimate Boot CD LINUX -Austrumi -Damn Small Linux -Inquisitor Live -Limp -NimbleX -Puppy Linux -Slax -Ubuntu/KUbuntu PE -Windows PE 1.x ---LiveXP ---WindowsPE ---UBCD4WIN -Windows PE > 2 ---VistaPE ---Win7PE -Win Recovery Disk ---Win XP Recovery Disk ---Win Vista Recovery Disk ---Win 7 Recovery Disk One question I have is some of these softwares have multiple versions or editions, (ophcrack for xp or vista) or (inquisitor 32 or 64) how do i inculde BOTH i presume it will take either depending on what is in the folder, how do i make it take Both. Also I have included most of these except Ubuntu and a couple of the windows and got it on one dvd. PS anyone got a good tutorial for Inquisitor??? Ok I just tried using this and its not bad. However I have some issues. First is the option to use UBCD and UBCD4W. For some reason once the dvd is created and I run it I am unable to have the UB work. I just get "boot: ". My other problem is using the Vista Repair Discs. I put both ISO images into the ISO folder but the Sardu program does not see them.
Anyone else have these problems?
