Does anyone know of a type of stand or something to use while soldering motherboards. I have one from radio shack with two alligator clips but it stinks. Any thoughts or suggestions to make easier? Thanks.

Yeah, just about any vice would do you good. It's not like your running electricity through the board when soldering, so it's safe to use one. Just always remember that a vice is strong enough to crush just about anything, so not too tight!

One of if not the best I have seen is a DIY project and it uses flexible hydralic hoses for the arms which makes it durable and extremely adjustable...have a look (http://www.instructables.com/id/Desk-Squid---Helping-Hands-improved./).

Thanks guys both look good. Really like the 3rd arm one. Reminds me of Spider Man 2.

How much soldering are you talking? Would one of these work: http://www.highspeedpc.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=TopTechSTD or check out an http://store.sra-solder.com/product.php?xProd=6367 I drilled new standoffs in the rail for repairing 360's, and you could heat the mobo as well, that has to offer some protection against that hot solder running onto the cool pcb material!
