One of my clients running Vista can only boot *completely* in safe mode since an Adobe update today.
They are not even sure if it is a Reader or Flash update or some other program.
When they boot in regular Vista mode, the Windows logo appears and the green lines march across the progress bar for at least twenty minutes before we reset.
Hard drive activity stops after a couple of minutes.
We have restored from multiple restore points up to a week ago without any success.
All suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

If you've restored with points from a week (can't you go back further?) before the update, I suspect that the problem wasn't just caused by this particular Adobe update.
You may have to look deeper into this as it sounds like your system files are corrupt/missing.

Log in to the safe mod and remove adobe completely and then try logging in normally adobe sometime causes problems. In this kind of problem restore system will not help you because restoring your system will not remove any programs that have been installed.
In my network adapters, a wireless adapter called Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter is there. Disabled that by going to Network and Sharing Center- Change Adapter Settings, and then right clicking on it and choosing disabled.
I know you said vista but I was having the same problem with Win7 and that fixed it.

What led you that setting?

AutoRuns in Safe Mode can be your best friend in situations like this, just a reminder. ;)
