Heya everyone, I'll start at the top: I want to buy a mac, but i don't want to pay extortionate ammounts. The reason being is I live in the UK, which means everything is more expensive from Apple than it is in the US. For this example I'll use the Mac Pro 8 core (my fav. :)). In the UK it is 2,499.00, and in the US it's $3,299.00. As of today, with the exchange rate n' all, if I buy it from the US it'll cost 1,985, a saving of nearly 500! I know that there is usually a difference between prices 'cross countries but that extra 500 would buy you a mac mini. So my question is: can I buy a mac from the US website and ship it to the UK?

You will have to pay custom import duties on it. If the seller in the us is legitimate they will report the value on the customs form. If they don't then it's a crime but you wouldn't be the one in trouble at least on this end. I don't know what UK laws are for customs avoidance.
