Sorry if this has been covered in the past, I couldn't find a thread on it.
Has anyone used a giveaway like a gaming machine as a way to draw in customers? I had a great launch week, pre-launch to iron things out with family and friends was fine as well - then it all went dead.
Perhaps I need to just be more patient and wait for the truck to be wrapped. Thoughts anyone?

Humm, my parents business do this sometimes.. Make sure you get all the rules ironed out etc. to avoid any problem.
But if you are first starting out I would work more on proven advertising, like making a phone book ad etc.

We are actually going to do give this a shot this winter for our landscaping business. We're going to give away a free landscape job. All the details haven't been ironed out yet but I do think it's a good idea. I'll update and let you know how it goes after we do it.

If you're thinking of doing a give-away, don't go solo. What i mean by this is that if you do it in conjunction with some sort of charity or community benefit drive, you get extra exposure, advertising, goodwill and you can chalk it up as a charitable contribution on your tax books. Double your pleasure, double your fun. :)
