I bought a new mb / cpu and psu. I have put it all together and when I turn it on the fans turn on for about 1 second then everything shuts off. I have tested all components in another computer and everything 'cpu/mem/psu' are ok. I am thinking that it might be related to the 'Power/Led hub' on the mother board. I am not sure how to hook the buttons from the case to the hub correctly.

Do I need to have them ALL pluged in for the pc to run ? Does it matter which pin is + or - ? I see no way at all to even plug in the HDD LED as the plug doesnt match the pins at all on the hub ... What can I do here ? : /

Thank you!
John

yes the +/- can make a difference. and your Power supply could be under powered for that system ie too much draw.

The pin layout is usually in the motherboard manual and the labels for the plugs on the case are typically written on the plugs.

You dont need all of them to boot except for the on switch, the rest are just LED's or the reset switch, you should hook them all up anyway.

You problem is most likely incorrect pin setup, or underpowered power supply. For a modern PC (P4ish) you should at least have a 330w power supply. If its a hardcore gaming machine you should have more.
