I know that as time goes on we are all finding that Laptop repairs are becoming a larger part of our business.

Trying to build a database of reliable vendors for parts. For example today looking for a replacement screen for a Toshiba A105.

I have read in the posts that many of you are using vendors from eBay, and I would do the same if I could get some independant review of their reliablity and service (and speedy shipping).

Any suggestions?

Mundocorp has a very poor WOT rating. It doesn't have great reviews at Reseller ratings or BBB, either.

I've gotten LCD parts (some hard to find) from LCDParts.net (http://www.lcdparts.net/Default.aspx).

BTW, I've found that laptop parts prices frequently border on the "highway robbery" category. Example: $75 plus shipping for a HSF bracket. Good vendors at decent prices for quality used and new laptop parts are hard to find. Some eBay sellers also have ecommerce storefronts and not all of them are rip-off artists trying to make a fortune from salvaged junk.

i had a major issue with them/her last year
got a nextday air package sent to me which ups screwed up and sent to the wrong state
so in order to be reimbursed for the shipping i had to call them to have them call UPS within 15 days, after a month of calling them to make sure they called (they said they did but never heard back from UPS) i finally did some investigation
mundocorp is basically some woman sitting in her kitchen taking orders and acting like she has 20 other departments
needless to say after harrassing her for 2 weeks straight she finally broke and reimbursed me out of her pocket since she dropped the ball with UPS

sucks that she is the only one that has gateway parts though

I'm in the same boat as you. Looking for reliable vendors for laptop parts. Did you happen to find a good source for the Toshiba replacement screen? I need to order a Toshiba replacement screen tomorrow.
