Have a machine here, that gives no video signal, and USB seems to be dead.
Put in a new graphics card, and checked the monitor and cable, still no signal.
What would be a suitable replacement for this mobo, so I can reuse as many existing parts as possible?

Assuming you've checked the standard Power supply, reseated/removed the cards, etc. I'd ask how old is the machine and how long is the expected service life?

Assuming you've checked the standard Power supply,
How does one go about checking the power supply?
reseated/removed the cards, etc.

The machine is one year old, and the owner would probably expect several years out of it.
After replacing the graphics card, I ran a knoppix memtest,
which failed rapidly.
I then turned off the Extreme BIOS flashscreen/logo
and saw that the Bios was only seeing 128MB,
on a machine which I knew to have a 1GB and 51GB chip.
I removed them, and tried a few combinations.
Turned out to be a bad 512 chip. Took it out, and the machine is working perfectly.

I'm glad it's working. I'd be tempted to say the machine had a power spike of some sort. I'd recommend verifying the backup and also recommend a UPS or a good surge suppressor.
