I have been on the receiving end of Citrix remote support and from my discussions with the techs they find it to work well for them.
Citrix has another product called GoToAssist Express.
It looks like it has the functionality that I would like (including unattended access) and the pricing structure would fit the smaller business model.
30 day trial available.
USD $69 Monthly
$660 Annual
$9.95 Daily Pass
Anyone have experience with it?

I tried GoToAssist when it was in beta and was free, it was a good product. However, the costs are too high. Unless you have a high volume of remote services, you could probably find something else.

I've been using it for a little over 2 months and I love it. It's expensive, but worth every penny. The big price tag is easiliy offset by the time it saves me over the VNC based programs I was always screwing around with.

I've been using it for about 8 months and it is just dandy. My word of mouth business has now spread world-wide! :D 2 weeks ago I serviced a PC for a customer's brother that is stationed in Hawaii. I charge my hourly rate in 15 minute increments. I am only paying $45/month (it's now $69?). I was a free beta tester maybe that's why?
Although I do make money using it - even if I didn't - I would still use it because when customers call and have quick easy-fix issues I can log in and repair it in 5 minutes instead of driving all over town to do the same thing. It is a "value-added service" my customers love. It enhances my value to them for very little $$ and it is things like this that keeps them coming back and referring me to their friends!

I tried it and ended up going with Teamviewer instead. Def give Teamviewer a shot, it's the best remote software out there imo.

Don't recall when or why you went with TV but I have to agree and say in trying several apps I find TV to be the best of many used over the years. :)

I posted a thread right before I bought it a couple weeks ago here...http://www.technibble.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10594&highlight=teamviewer I went with the Premium version because it had some extras that are very useful to me, plus they are giving me a free upgrade to TV 5 which comes out next year.

Premium version, $1399.00. The extras that it offers over the business version are helpful for what I am using it for. Plus I need some write-offs before the end of the year and this fits in nicely.
It is expensive but those who are paying $40-$50/month would have this paid off in a year or two depending on what version you get. Have you tried it out yet?

Anyone used or tried Mikogo (http://www.mikogo.com/en/)? It's free. Works with Windows and Mac. I discovered it a few months ago but haven't tried it yet.

For starters, I liked the one time fee instead of paying annually. I'm not sure if Citrix offers a portable usb version but that is a real plus. Other than that it's hard to say. They are both great, I just liked TV better.

We are using it and some clients (even residential) cannot get it to 'work' easily.
I have to admit that I have not attempted to diagnose *why* it does not work (i.e. firewall, etc.)
This is because of time constraints and not wanting to inconvenience my clients.
When it does work, I really enjoy the features and find that it is very reliable in terms of staying connected, etc.
I would recommend the product but also suggest you have a 'Plan B' as backup.

This is why TV is so good as well, you don't need to worry about firewalls or whatever, you simply apply the code given to you by the customer and you're connected without any issue.

Have you ever had a case where Team Viewer did not work first attempt?

I am referring to the 'express' version.
I do not know if that would make any difference.

The problem that some of my clients had were during the actual download of the software ... including the 'manual' method.

I have had a couple of customers that had to hit the manual download button but that has been rare. I suspect just waiting for the server a few more seconds would've probably worked but who knows. Some people get very impatient waiting more than about 5 seconds (me included!).

I've just started a trial of GoToAssist Express and am enjoying it so far. Cleaner and easier than LogMeIn.

And cheaper. If you wait a couple weeks after the trial to sign up, they'll send you a coupon that makes it $48/month.

Not considering pricing for a moment....
What features are included with TeamViewer and *not* GoToAssist Express?

I've been demoing LogMeIn Rescue for a week or so and have been loving it. It's quick and easy for all involved. I just signed up for a trial of GoToAssist Express and on my first use it was slow and a hassle for the "client" (non technical brother) to initially get session started.

I use GoToAssist express, in the rare cases clients couldn't load quick I've found Java to (apparently) be the issue.
I have them update to latest version of Java then go to the page and type in code again and it's worked fine then.
I'm loving it, especially the Unattended Support I put on the servers I administer.
