I've been scratching my head on an LCD problem on a laptop. BTW, I am getting a picture through an external monitor throughout this.
I'm replacing a cracked LCD on a laptop. Other than the cracks, the picture is fine. I tried one LCD and there were no lights, no picture, nothing. I plugged the cracked LCD back in and it still works. I thought it was a DOA LCD.
The second LCD I tried works intermittently. Sometimes the backlight is low, sometimes it works great but when I reboot, no picture. The cracked LCD still works but now it is intermittent at this point but not as bad as the 2nd "new" LCD I have tried.
I suppose I am dealing with a inverter that is going bad. Any opinions out there would be appreciated.
