What does every1 do about proving a monitor good in the field.

Hi Paul
I wouldnt bother with that it seems expensive and mite not be 100% accurate, its one of those things that would be nice to have but not essential.
you can get a tft for that price:
http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/125848
You can also get monitor test programs for testing:
http://www.passmark.com/products/monitortest.htm
http://www.monitortest.net/monitortest.asp
I work with businesses so there is usually a spare monitor around or I take it away and test it.
Hope that helps

Thanks for the reply.
ye the price on that is well off, but im just after something that would give the monitor some signal to check if its active basically, i do quite a lot of home calls and there isn't always an additional monitor.
Even if there was a kind of loop back socket might help, if you understand me.
i know its not essential, but is just a nice touch i guess.
Also why where here im after something that i can test iec leads with for power rather than a multi meter or a kettle. lol. just another simple tester that doesn't seem to exist.
Cheers.

I've always had trouble finding a power supply in the field! :D
Anyway, I just carry a laptop and plug the monitor into my laptop - what could be easier

if you got a laptop though, honestly thats the best way to know... plug through vga, and voila, either bad or good.
