PCI Database (http://www.pcidatabase.com/)

After a clean install of Windows, you check DEVICE MANAGER and discover that dreaded exclamation point beside a PCI device and you have no idea what this UNKNOWN DEVICE is. The solution is to find the Vendor ID and Device ID and search PCI Database.

Find the IDs by right-clicking on the UNKNOWN DEVICE and select PROPERTIES. On the pop-up window, do the following:

A) Click the Details tab

B) Select Hardware IDs

C) Voila! The vendor and device IDs are shown (VEN_xxxx & DEV_xxxx)
